The Blues Broers pride themselves on producing an exceptionally fine, versatile and diverse live show. Known in the 90s as South Africa’s hardest working blues band, the Blues Broers played hundreds of gigs at festivals, in bars and in nightclubs.
The Blues Broers recently released their sixth cd, “Out of the Blue” CD, on which the band wrote, performed and produced all 13 songs. Eight years have passed since they took a well-earned break from their exhausting tour schedule. Fourteen years have passed since their last album was released. This album is being very well received and the Blues Broers have certainly not lost their magic.

The Blues Broers would like to announce that after 21 years with them, Albert Frost is leaving to concentrate on his solo career and other projects. “We’ve had an incredible music making journey with Albert,” says keyboard player Simon Orange, “and we wish him all the best, and I’m sure we’ll be sharing the stage with him soon.”
His very large shoes will be capably filled by Basson Laubscher, well known and loved both as a solo performer and for his guitar work with the Valiant Swart Band, Zinkplaat and many other local acts. He recently recorded his solo album, ‘Shakedown’, which highlights his virtuosity and versatility, including Texas and down home guitar styles.
The Blues Broers are very excited about having Basson on board.
Says Basson: “I used to sneak out from Paul Roos boarding school on weekends to catch the Blues Broers at the Akker (now the Hidden Cellar). I can’t believe I now play with them!”
