The Simon van Gend Band are an introspective indie/folk/rock trio (Simon on acoustic guitar and vocals, Eric Michot on bass, Ross Campbell on drums) from Cape Town, whose music has been described as a home-grown unique blend of folksie foot-tapping red wine fire-side poetry. They have recorded 5 albums of original songs. Their latest album, ‘Suffer Well’, is made up of the best of the songs from Simon’s ‘Song a week’ project, in which he wrote a new song every week for a year.
